You’ll notice the numbers 1, 2, 3 and the letter M on the power-seat controls. M stands for Memory—it lets you save your preferred seat and side-mirror positions to a number and recall them automatically.
If you look on the left side of the driver’s seat (or the right side of the front passenger seat), you’ll find the seat-adjustment switches along with the memory buttons. (If your car doesn’t have power seats, or it’s an older model, this feature may not be available.)
How to use seat & side-mirror memory
- Manually adjust the seat and side mirrors to where you want them.
- Press and hold the M button for about 3 seconds, then press 1 (or any number you want). You’ll hear a short beep to confirm it’s saved.
- To recall it, press and hold the saved number. The seat and mirrors will move to the stored position.
Notes & tips
- If you try to save without changing anything, nothing will move later—adjust first, then save.
- Apart from the confirmation beep, most cars won’t give a voice prompt or on-screen message. (Exact operation can vary by model.)
For cars shared by multiple drivers—or when you recline to rest in the car—memory presets are a lifesaver. If you have a sensitive back, save the position that feels best and bring it back with one press.
In tight spaces or narrow parking lines, angling a mirror down to see the ground or the line helps with accuracy. Instead of tweaking it every time, save a “parking” preset and call it up with a button.
